Agrobio Périgord has supported organic farming for 30 years and in 2016 set up an Economic and Environmental Interest Group with around twenty Bergerac winegrowers to develop collective action and identify solutions that respond to technical and agronomic problems concerning the establishment, maintenance and destruction of plant cover.
In four years of existence, the GIEE has reached 65 members, independent winegrowers, cooperative cellars, market gardeners, tree growers in the Dordogne and in the neighboring departments, structured around two main poles.
The first pole aims to acquire dedicated, efficient and inexpensive equipment for self-construction. The second pole aims to strengthen local seed production and optimize group purchases.
Agrobio Périgord provides technical support to the GIEE and its feedback through the animation of an Ecophyto network and the training provided throughout France.
